The Office of Lorain County Engineer Ken Carney is currently in the process of collecting survey data and completing environmental studies to complete the construction documents associated with the reconstruction of the intersection of Oberlin-Elyria (CR 231) and LaGrange (CR 19) Roads into a modern round a bout in Carlisle Township. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2026 and Traffic will be maintained at all times during construction, except for a short closure for a maximum of one weekend. During the closure, traffic will be detoured using Hall Road. Detour information will be posted in advance of the closure and access to properties will be maintained throughout construction. Additional right of way will be required to construct the project. The estimated cost of the new round a bout is $1,507,000 of which 80% is being funded through a safety grant from the federal highway administration.
